At this time of holidays and the New Year we here at Talking-Feather
wanted to send a special message to you. The following prayer is from
the Navajo, and can be found in many places, one of which is the Museum at Chaco Canyon in New Mexico, for the Anasazi. Some
say that reading the words bring peace and calm. We find this to be
true. May your holidays be Happy and your New Year Prosperous! The

Walking in Beauty: Closing Prayer from the Navajo Way Blessing Ceremony
Thank you so much.
This is the best version I’ve ever read. I was saying this in my heart as I walked through the woods with my dogs yesterday.

So peaceful and beutiful.I want to say this pray when i rise in
the morning.Thank you for the wisdom and love of the Indian nations and
to John two birds,who in 1995 told me to walk in beauty.
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! I’m going to make my own poster with this
written on it and put it on my door to read every morning before I leave
my house. Very uplifting :-)
If my long time friend in real world Eric Maier can make a long distance walk from Texas to Washington State in 2004, so can his friend James Driskill
make long distance much shorter but none the less important walk from
Oakland to San Bernardino in some date to be determined in 2013. This is
an unquestionable duty that I must complete. I am requesting help from
those who can assist in making this walk happen safely for me.
Apparently as Mr Maier details to me for his walk in
2004, he had no outside watchers of support tracking his
motions/safety. If that is the way that I have to make this walk, I WILL
AND I MUST! Think me foolish? Perhaps, but I will take Eric's advice
with me. Please contact me if you have any advice or can offer
assistance in making this walk start to finish happen safely for me. If I
get no replies, I will start walking it free and alone. I made a
promise in the words written in May 20 2006, "Oh Kind Sir", that I must
complete. Please contact me, this is rather important to me. Thank You,
Oh So Kindly.
I
forgot to mention that Susan Moore of Peak Wellness Center, Program
Director for the Drop In Center has tentatively shared interest in
actually walking along side me step by step from Oakland to San
Bernardino.
I still do not have any direct email nameID
addressing for her. I hope the above general email box and
addressing gets forwarded.
As we were last discussing my needs to fulfill a promise made in
2006 to walk home, this long distance walk, an attempt and justification
could be establish for special client mental therapy purposes directly
in view of my acquiring mental health treatment since my arrival in
Wyoming in Sept 2010.
So as of this writing, I have a date set and a goal assessment
expressed. I hope find the resource and support where "Counsels
Will Be Strong"
Joy, of course in honor of your counsels so far
given life, I have selected this passage to also be put into my "walk
project" materials. I love you really -- thank you.
Art thou dejected?
Is thy mind o'ercast?
To chase thy gloom,
Go fix some weighty truth;
Chain down some passion; do some generous good;
Teach Ignorance to see, or Grief to smile;
Correct thy friend; befriend thy greatest foe;
Be just in all things; make amends
For follies past, and, with warm heart,
Forgive, and be forgiven. Let work not words
Thy virtue prove. Go act as well as prate,
And then thy counsels will be strong,
Thy reprimands avail. —ANON
THE province of the historian is to gather the threads of the
past ere they elude forever his grasp and weave them into a harmonious
web to which the art preservative may give immortality. Therefore he who
would rescue from fast gathering oblivion the deeds of a community and
send them on to futurity in an imperishable record should deliver a
plain unvarnished tale.[1][2]

We
last left our voice conversation open -- meaning I was expecting to
rejoin that conversation. But I am not taking any extra effort to
attempt anything of connection with you without some effort in return
back to me.
Whatever energies emotional or physical that is hindering our
connection interests -- well there are a few things I want you to be
aware of happening around me...
